This was fantastic Renee, I was already looking forward to meeting with you but now that I know more of your backstory I'm even more excited. Speak soon!
Wow! Thank you for sharing your journey so honestly. I love that you have found what lights you up and your passion for helping others is palpable. Thank you for being authentically you. 💖
There's so much gold in this post! Firstly, how great that your Dad gave you that book. To understand all that at a young age is invaluable. Thank you for sharing so openly and honestly about your journey. What we learn along the way is what we can share with the world. So cool that you've found your calling now. P.S. I've also started doing day trips to my nearest coastal town, it's so good for the soul!
Awesome story, Renee. Looking forward to the next chapters and some exciting plot twists.
A quote from the personal branding guy Rory Vaden came to mind when reading this, "You are most powerfully positioned to serve the person you once were." Sounds like you're following this path, eh?
Yup... but the problem for too many of us is the belief that we are ready to serve that person, the person we once were. We lack self-respect and self-worth. It was a journey to believe that, even though you are ready, that you are actually capable and worthy enough to help the person you once were.
And it's not like it's step function... who's to say you "were" someone at any given point. It all feels continuous, until you make the decision that you're a new person. It took some time to admit that it was time to move on.
And yes!! Daisy Myers...in fact, my current company, Sunshine Daisy Publishing LLC, was named after that stupid first pen name. And is a constant reminder of Ms. Myers ;)
True, which is why you realize that book sales have to be the tip of the iceberg, otherwise it's just a churn. Running profitable ads isn't hard, but if you can run profitable ads to books, who then turn into clients of higher-value offers, it starts to make more financial sense.
This was a great read! What a ride! I've not sold that many books but it certainly is my goal.
I've written books that drive leads to my business and it's help build the lifestyle I wanted but like you said not from book revenues.
Thank you for sharing. After 7 years in self Publishing I've never seen something so raw and honest.
Thank you Chris, I am humbled seeing this comment from you. I admire your work very much.
And totally, I wish I had it figured out like you, to use books to drive leads to a business. Learned it eventually.
You've been in self-publishing for some time - did you understand a book funnel outside of self-publishing your own books or accidentally as well?
I did know about it because of chandler bolts booked Published.
I started a business and knew I needed to wrote a book about to create credibility.
I didn't write it a book then realize I needed a business to make money.
Books have always been a loss leader or low cost, high effort marketing tactic and strategy.
It's why I'm huge about mini books. Less effort same credibility.
Good idea 💡

Thanks Catherine!
Well done Renee. What a journey! I was wondering why you wrote a book about harvesting rainwater - and now I know!
One day when I finish writing my book, I will be knocking on your door to help me sell it.
Haha yes... sometimes I wonder if I tell this story too many times, but maybe not.
Sounds good Selda :) It can be a challenge for sure, I recall you mentioned your kids take up a lot of your time and attention?

Can I buy the book in PDF? I am in Spain
Hey Salvador! Absolutely!
The best way to purchase it is to purchase the eBook from Amazon through Spain’s Amazon here: https://bit.ly/HarvestingYourRainwater
Thanks, I see you have 407 ratings, that is great!!!
Thank you :)
And they just keep coming in on autopilot too...
What a great story! And congrats for turning off the ads. It's amazing how much money you can incinerate while trying to sell books.
